Italian Dressing Mix

Everyone who has ever gone out to eat with me, knows I hate salad dressing. I don't even use oil and vinegar on my salads. I however, married a man who loves Italian dressing. And the poor thing has not had salad dressing at home for the last 3 years. I used to buy small bottles of dressing, but we would waste 3/4 of the bottle. So one day I decided to quit buying it.

Then the other day I came across these mix recipes at momadvice.com, and I knew that I had to try the Italian Dressing Seasoning Mix.

The recipe (slightly modified for us):
1 1/2 t garlic powder
1 T onion powder
2 T ground oregano
1 T dried parsley
1 T granulated sugar
1 T sea salt
1 t black pepper
1 t ground basil
1/4 t ground thyme
1/2 t dried celery flakes

Mix everything together and store in a air tight container. To make dressing: 1 part dressing mix, 1 part water, 2 parts vinegar, 4 parts olive oil. If your 'part' is a tablespoon, then you'll have 1/2 cup of dressing. If you want to use the entire mix at once then your 'part' is 1/2 cup and you'll have 4 cups of dressing.

The result: Guitar Man really liked the dressing, his only critique was that it could use more vinegar.
